Inspired by the beauty and therapeutic nature of plants, Bramley create a small, focussed collection of ethical bath and body products in the heart of the British countryside. We caught up owner Chloë to find out what inspires her work.

Your beautiful bath and body products are all manufactured in the British countryside using carefully selected ingredients, tell us how you create your collection.
My inspiration for the look and feel of the products come from the glorious countryside and also from my husband’s pub, The Beckford Arms, because I initially created the collection for the rooms there.
The scents are inspired by the things that make me smile/ are uplifting, the experience of using the products is really important and it needs to be enjoyable.
When I am creating a new product I think about the customer and whether or not it would work in their home and with the rest of the range. Each product can take anything from 8 months to 2 years to create, as I need to be really happy with every detail of the product and packaging before sharing it with our customers.

What inspires your work?
Definitely the hedgerows and the wild flowers in the countryside around where we live. I think my favourite month of the year is May, when the hedges are literally bursting with cow parsley, bluebells, campion and buttercups. It’s about bringing the outside in and it’s these wild flowers which inspired me to create Bramley and can now be found visually on the labels.
Do you have any new plans or exciting projects in the pipeline?
We have lots of new products in development which is always exciting. The next launch in September is going to be a Room Spray but we also have a Lip Balm and a Pillow Spray in testing phase too. I always try and do one offs for Christmas so we’ve got a couple of those coming too! We’re also in the process of building and creating a Bramley blog which will feature lots of different articles from interior tips to edible flowers to competitions which I am so excited to launch.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I’ve been lucky enough to have done some travelling before the children came along but there are still so many places that I would love to visit. Top of my list is India and that would be followed very closely by South America. My favourite holiday destination is Greece, I just love the colour of the sea, the food and the countryside, absolute bliss.
Finally, what is the one thing you can’t live without?
I know my husband would say my phone but it is definitely Hellman’s mayonnaise!
