Food plays a huge part in all our lives, from gathering friends and enjoying meals of an evening, to sitting down as family for a hearty Sunday roast, to the healing chicken soup made by a loved one when you’re under the weather – foodie joy punctuates all of our lives, and one of our favourite gastro-based activities is spending a lazy weekend morning mulling over (and sampling) the fine fare at a farmers’ market.
You can imagine our excitement when we heard that news that Primrose Hill is set to be the newest destination for Londoners to enjoy some of the finest food and drink available when a new Saturday farmers’ market opens this September, just a stone’s throw from our Regent’s Park Road store.
Internationally acclaimed butcher Jack O’Shea will lead the line-up of traders, including: delicious smoked salmon from House of Sverre; World Cheese award winners Wildes Cheese, Hook and Son dairy, who featured in the 2013 feature film, The Moo Man; Bad Brownie; British charcuterer Cannon and Cannon and many other artisan creatives offering the finest foods and drinks. The new market will also serve to promote local business in the community, including mushroom Pâté creators Pâté Moi.
Making food shopping a pleasure, the Market aims to bring the community together and encourage people to take joy in and learn about their food, by speaking directly with makers, from provenance to production to taste, and we can’t wait for the first bite.
The first Primrose Hill Farmers’ Market is on Saturday 26th September and will take place every week from 10AM – 3PM on the grounds of St Paul’s School, Primrose Hill Road, NW3 3DS.
